Scaefloc should be perceived and 'presents' himself as a human, both in demeanour and manners. He seems agile, but not of that lithe build that many associate with half-elves. In general, he looks to be "thirty and a couple" years old, slightly marked by his rougher way of living.
If studied closely, his ears show his heritage, though only to such a degree that it is easily missed. His eyes that seem to change from pale grey to a pale clear blue. The hair is dark brownish, reaching to just about shoulder length. His skin is just a little paler than the average human in Waterdeep.
Usually dressed in city clothes of fairly decent quality (between costume and fine, around 10gp) Loosely worn studded leather and a cloak which he seems to prefer wearing with the hood up often enough His main companions are the rapier, dagger and a pair of dice, the latter especially if at the tavern.
Scaefloc is the gregarious, extrovert joker at the drinking table, with a cynical streak, and a bit of dry wit added. Friendly, buying someone a drink, if he has the silver for it, quite non-prestigious with no prickly skin or need to defend his honour at any perceived slights. So overall, pretty relaxed and a good company at the tavern or inn, especially if a bit of gaming is involved.
(However, while this is being his demeanour most of the time, he is very private about himself, not keen on letting anyone in too close, minding his own business and would prefer if others would do the same. Thankfully, adventure parties usually do, they seldom give a crap who you are and where you are from, only what skills you can contribute to the team and tasks at hand.)
Easy going, Sense of fairness (negotiable/situational), often impulsive but if the situation seems serious, capable of stepping back and assess options. The perfect bet is out there somewhere. I just have to keep my eyes open.
He generally manages to walk the balance between being an individualist and a team player, at least up to a certain point. If too many team members start to act like morons in his opinion, they are on their own. After all, they had it coming to them.
That he is a Half-Elf. He does not dislike his heritage (then again, not the very proud of it, it is what it is). The simple fact is that he still, somewhere in him, deeply respects his mother.. more than he respects where he himself ended up, probably.
He avoids any references to his mother's heritage and if questioned directly, he avoids any straight answers as much as possible, instead trying to divert the conversations elsewhere.
The Lost Lover Acelariel (Name meaning Shining moon silver maiden) was a moon elf Ranger, Fey Wanderer, lvl 3, that was a member of his party. Her family came from Aerasumé/Homehaven. A Deathlock killed Acelariel up in the High Moor, northwest of the Serpent Hills in the month of Alturiak DR 1491. Since then he either hates or fears undeads with a fury, depending on circumstances.
The Sentinels got their name from the small town of Secomber, which in DR 1490 was threatened by a raiding band of hobgoblins, kobolds and the occasional orc, led by the hobgoblin captain Drogath Skullchewer. The garrison needed a band of adventurers to find the camp and if possible, root out the raiders.
Pre Sentinels, one shot adventure Adventurers: Thimnolina Sparkstone, Famax Thistletea "Kettlewhistle", Scaefloc DR 1489: A rich merchant visiting Waterdeep for business has a problem with a rat infestation in the warehouse he hired for storing his goods. According to the rats, it was the merchant that was the problem (refusing to pay 'protection')
DR 1490: Defeating the hobgoblin Drogath Skullchewer's raiders.
DR 1490-91: Lord Traskar Selarn hired The Sentinels to explore some ruins to search for riches not yet looted. It should have been a simple scout and grab mission, but the party got into more than they had bargained for, encountering undead, lead by two Deathlocks.. Lore: Heard of some dark organisation called Zhentarim, heard of an evil necromancer (undead?) named Pomerios or Pomerian.
